Dabangg

Dabangg (Fearless) is an upcoming action flick, directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Arbaaz Khan, set to be released on 10 September 2010. It is the first film of newly launched Arbaaz Khan Productions. The lead actors in the film include Arbaaz’s elder brother, Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of Shatrughan Sinha. It is going to be the debut film of Sonakshi as an actor and Arbaaz as a producer. The film also marks the debut of director Abhinav Kashyap who is the brother of acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap. The film also features Om Puri, Dimple Kapadia, Vinod Khanna, Mahesh Manjrekar, Arbaaz Khan, Mahie Gill and Sonu Sood in supporting roles.

Dabangg is set in Uttar Pradesh. Salman Khan plays a character with negative shades. He plays a corrupt police officer, named Chulbul Pandey, also known as Robinhood Pandey. The story revolves around Chulbul Pandey a brave albeit corrupt police officer who works independently. He had a terrible childhood and after the death of his mother Dimple Kapadia he decides to leave his step father played by Vinod Khanna who favors his younger brother more than him. His life changes with the entry of Sonakshi in his life. The film tries to highlight the flaws and loopholes in the system. The film will primarily deal with the unlawful practices of police in the states of UP and Bihar.
