I Hate Luv Storys - I Hate Luv Storys is a Bollywood film written and directed by Punit Malhotra and produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Ronnie Screwvala’s UTV Motion Pictures. Starring Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles I Hate Luv Storys is a directorial debut of Puneet Malhotra.
The film is a romantic comedy that revolves around two central characters Jai (Imraan Khan) and Simran (Sonam Kapoor). Jai is an assistant director to Bollywood’s money-making machine Veer Kapoor. Jai hates his job. Simran is an art director, who has a picture-perfect romance. Simran and his boyfriend Raj has a very cheesy affair that is totally funny for Jai who does not believe in love stories at all. Jai and Simran work together to work in Veer’s latest flick. They don’t strike it well at the start; Jai keeps teasing Simran regarding how boring her boyfriend is. When they finally get comfortable with each other, Simran realizes that she is in love with Jai. She admits to Jai she’s in love with him, but finds out that he’s not at all “looked at her that way”. How Jai changes his decision forms the rest of the story.
The music of the film is given by Vishal and Shekhar. Some of the tracks are really phenomenally and breathtakingly romantic. The sequences between Imran and Sonam are well shot. In short, the movie is a praiseworthy attempt by the first time director. Even if a love story doesn’t attract you that much, I Hate Luv Storys will be a refreshing journey reliving some parts of romance in life.
