0 comments Khatta Meetha - Khatta Meetha is a satire directed by Priyadarshan that stars Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan. This movie is a remake of the 1989 Malayalam drama film, “Vellanakalude Nadu” which was also directed by him. This one of the many comedy films by the winning combination of Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar. They steal the show once again.
The film revolves around a struggling road constructor, Sachin Tichkule (Akshay Kumar). He dreams big. But there seems to be no chance of his dreams coming true as he doesn’t have any money to bribe the bureaucracy. Fatak (Manoj Joshi), Sachin’s brother-in-law, is a corrupt chief engineer who works in the municipality. Suhas Vichare (Milind Gunaji) is a road contractor married to Sachin’s second sister. Anjali (Urvashi Sharma) is Sachin’s college-going sister. To make matters worse, the new municipal commissioner turns out to be his former girlfriend, Gehna Ganpule (Trisha Krishnan), who now hates him. As Sachin stumbles from one disaster to another, the film brings to light the extent of corruption that’s rampant in the system.
Akshay Kumar’s comic timing is impeccable but he is very loud. Trisha, who makes her Hindi film debut, is passable. She looks too young to be a municipal commissioner! Urvashi Sharma is decent. Johny Lever, who is seen after a very long time, is uproarious. Wish we could see more of him. Rajpal Yadav gives a superlative performance. Makrand Deshpande is effective in his small role. Manoj Joshi is impressive while Kulbhushan Kharbanda is good as ever.
