Kites - Directed by Anurag Basu, from a story by Rakesh Roshan who has also produced the film, Kites revolves around Jai and Natasha, two street-smart petty people. Natasha is about to marry into a wealthy and atrocious Las Vegas family merely for the money to support her poor family in Mexico.

Jai (Hrithik Roshan) makes money in LA by taking Salsa lessons. Due to his poor financial condition he must earn money even if it is by crooked means. His destiny supports him when one of his students Gina (Kangana Ranaut) falls in love with him and he gets to know she is daughter of a millionaire, Bob (Kabir Bedi). His fake affair with Gina reintroduces him to Natasha (Barbara Mori), fiancée of Gina’s brother Tony (Nicholas Brown). The story takes a U-Turn when Jai and Natasha realize their true love for each other. Together they escape to change their destiny. Tony is furious and wishes to settle scroes with both of them.
Director Anurag Basu has succeeded in showing a brilliant chemistry between the lead pair, Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori. In spite of being new with each other’s languages, they converse through signs establishing that love has no language. The cinematography is side-splitting. The music does no justice to the film.
It’s the spirit of ‘Kites’ that wins over. The continual action, romance and drama going round and round throughout the film are at a pace that barely gives you an instant for thought. It’s not an influential work and is no masterpiece. But it’s absolutely amusing in terms of locations, dance and the chemistry between the pair.
